Unsatisfactory Temperament Tests – The Fate of FEEBEE from the Earth’s Axis

by | Jun 13, 2024

Warning: The following content reveals the shocking and deeply disturbing practices at the Balihara Ranch kennel. This is not a story for the faint-hearted.

In the world of dog breeding, ethics and animal welfare should always be at the forefront. However, at the Balihara Ranch kennel these principles seem to have been grossly overlooked. This blog post aims to shed light on the deeply concerning practices at this kennel.

Breeding Nightmares: The Unsettling Truth

Remember FEEBEE from the Earth’s Axis and D’ARTAGNAN Zahrada Snu? These two dogs, both with poor temperament tests, were mated repeatedly. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

Breeding Dogs with Unsatisfactory Temperament Tests

In a previous article “Breeding of dogs with unsatisfactory temperament tests at Balihara Ranch kennel”, we discussed the repeated matings of two dogs, FEEBEE from the Earth’s Axis and D’ARTAGNAN Zahrada Snu, both of whom had poor temperament tests. This practice alone raises serious ethical questions, but as we delve deeper, the situation becomes even more alarming.

Overbreeding: A Tale of Exhaustion and Neglect

FEEBEE from the Earth’s Axis had her first litter with D’ARTAGNAN Zahrada Snu on August 12, 2020, producing five males and three females. Astonishingly, another litter from the same mating was born just six months later, on February 7, 2021. This short break between litters is a topic we’ve already touched upon in a previous article “The impact of short breeding intervals on canine welfare”.

FEEBEE, a bitch with a weak temperament, had only two months to recover from the previous litter. This is considering that she nursed puppies from the first litter for two months and was mated for two months before the birth of the second litter. Raising eight puppies is a demanding task even for mentally balanced bitches. The size of the next litter could not have been foreseen at Balihara Ranch, and eight or even more puppies could have been born.

Repeated Mating Without Temperament Evaluation

At the age of four months the puppies from the first litter, Balihara Ranch mated FEEBEE again. At this point, she couldn’t have had the slightest idea about the character of the puppies from the previous litter, yet she repeated the mating.

After two litters, Balihara Ranch had to skip one breeding cycle with FEEBEE, but after a year, she bred her again with the same dog – D’ARTAGNAN Zahrada Snu! This was done when the puppies from the first litter were not yet mature, so she could not judge their temperaments.

Continuous Breeding of FEEBEE from the Earth’s Axis Without Adequate Rest

The owner of Balihara Ranch did not allow FEEBEE to rest and recover, giving her shocking and breathtaking only one month of convalescence before breeding her to a dog named KOOHINOOR van het Bressershof, whose result of temperament tests is not listed on skssp.eu. This incredibly sad story of FEEBEE ends with the next closest possible mating with a dog named Korolevstvo Gornich Psov CHINGIZ, who also has a lowered character mark of 12 points.

The Fate of FEEBEE from the Earth’s Axis

As per the new regulation by the local breeding club, a female can have a maximum of five litters. Thus, FEEBEE’s breeding career ended in five years. At the time of writing this article, FEEBEE should be six years old, and we can only speculate about her further fate, as discussed in the article “What happens to dogs after breeding season at Balihara Ranch kennel”.

The Grim Reality of Balihara Ranch

The reality of Balihara Ranch is grim – a female with a weak temperament had 24 puppies, which can mean 24 new owners who may have problems with the puppies. The fearfulness passed on to the offspring can be seen in Feebee´s son Chanson’s retracted tail and in Feebee´s daughter Eriobea’s poor temperament tests – she received only 11 points. This topic is discussed in detail in the blog article “Unethical breeding practices: A closer look at scared dogs in Balihara Ranch”.

Balihara Ranch kept two offspring from the combination of FEEBEE from the Earth’s Axis and D’ARTAGNAN Zahrada Snu for her further breeding. This represents the lowest point in breeding standards, ethics, and attempts to improve the breed. It’s clear that Balihara Ranch’s primary motivation is financial gain, regardless of the impact it has on the dogs under her care.

In conclusion, the practices at Balihara Ranch Kennel are deeply concerning and raise serious ethical questions. It is crucial that potential dog owners are aware of these issues and make informed decisions when choosing where to get their pets from. The welfare of the animals should always be the top priority in any breeding program.

When Numbers Start Calling the Shots: The Economics Turning Breeding Into a Production Model (Part I)

When breeding is driven by numbers, its underlying logic shifts. Available data on Balihara Ranch indicate repeated use of the same sire–dam combinations, yielding dozens of puppies from the same pair. This article examines where responsible breeding selection ends and a production model begins—and why, without firm guardrails, the system naturally steers breeders toward volume over thoughtful selection.

A New Year’s Wish – If Dogs Could Speak

As we enter the New Year, our wish is not for more, but for less. Fewer litters and fewer dogs where breeding has become an industry. Less silence around large commercial breeding operations. Because not everything that is legal is also right—and dogs have no way to say so out loud.

The Cost of a Career Built on Dogs

When dog breeding becomes the primary source of income and identity, stepping back without losses becomes impossible. A large commercial breeding operation like Balihara Ranch requires constant escalation, the concealment of reality, and the defense of a system that can no longer be acknowledged as problematic. This is not an individual failure, but the logical outcome of a career built exclusively on dogs.

The Qaiser van’t Stokerybos Case: Paper Exports as an Illusion of Oversight Part II: How a System Can Appear Lawful While Being Circumvented in Practice

The Qaiser van’t Stokerybos case shows how easily exports in dog breeding can be used not for cooperation between breeders, but to bypass the rules. A dog may be officially registered abroad while being physically used to breed females elsewhere—without the system addressing that contradiction.
