Balihara Ranch review
This review has been written about the Balihara Ranch kennel because we have been interested in Swiss Mountain Dogs for a long time. The kennel breeds all four breeds of this group of dogs: Greater Swiss Mountain Dog, Bernese Mountain Dog, Appenzeller Mountain Dog, and Entlebucher Mountain Dog. It is important to note that the owner of Balihara Ranch kennel also breeds other breeds in addition to four types of Swiss Mountain Dogs (they are sophisticatedly written for her close family members). She breeds dogs for more than 25 years and has produced more than 2500 puppies living all over the world. Note, this number only includes Swiss Mountain Dogs, not other dog breeds that she also breeds (Norfolk terriers). We found plenty of information sources on the internet and from other breeders and dog owners about this kennel, so we think we have taken an objective picture of her breeding practices.

MYTH #6: “Puppies Only to Vetted Homes”? The Reality of Mass Advertising and Third-Party Sales
The owner of Balihara Ranch cultivates the image of selling only to carefully vetted homes. In reality, she advertises en masse, sells through brokers, limits in-person contact and misleads buyers about why a proper visit isn’t allowed – and exports dogs without knowing who is on the receiving end. Can this still be called ethical breeding – or is it simply canine mass production?
MYTH #5: “Responsible Breeding” vs. Public Records That Raise Serious Concerns
The owner of Balihara Ranch kennel may promote it as a responsible breeder, yet the reality tells another story entirely. Puppies handed over at the gate, dogs hidden from buyers’ eyes, and dams bred over and over without rest — that is the true face of their so-called “responsible breeding.” The evidence is public. It’s there for anyone to see.
MYTH #4: “Carefully Planned Matings” vs. 6–8 Litters per Dam and Premature Breeding of Young Females
You can’t fake care. At Balihara Ranch, some females give birth up to eight times—whelping after four months, often before reaching the recommended age. Nearly 3,000 puppies have been born under the “carefully planned” breeding program overseen by the owner. Are we witnessing responsible breeding—or a relentless drive for production?
